The baud rate can be reported back on connection from the modem using an AT command. On my dial up ipcop box, I have added W2 to the dialing string to give ATW2DT. So now my ipcop web interface tells me I connect at 50667 bps instead of the serial port baud rate of 115200 bps. Hope that helps in some way. Also I'm not sure if all modems will accept the W2 command. Col.
