Following Ross Drummonds instructions :
Go to; Start --> System --> Confieration --> Packaging -->
Install Software.

After prompting for a root password rpmdrake the software installer program
will open

Enter mysql in the find box and click the search button. A list of mysql
applications will appear. Check the box next to the particular application
you wish to install and click on the install button.

The installer will prompt you to insert the appropriate cdrom.

I have never installed MySQL like this before.
My Mandrake installation and user guide says nothing about it.

At this stage all I know is that I do "not" need to install MySQL-Max as I
am not using transaction tables.

I would assume (dangerous I know) that I need to install mysql-common,
mysql-client.

Will this give me a working db or do I need to install more/other packages
??

Thanks again
Regards Kelvyn
