No, not stats, but read 6 months of bugtraq. Mailman is a very(!) widely used python app, and has not seen buqtraq often. phpBB is a pile I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. There was a content management system in python too, it's probably much easier to setup than the php equivalent. Phpnuke I'd probably nuke too for the same reason. Php has a problem with the size of the php3 code base which was developed without proper programming. The language itself was causing a good deal of the damage, IIUC.
