I think that this may indeed be the case Nick, I've just finished downloading the 2005.1 install ISO and will probably install this over the next few days. For some reason I do keep coming back to Gentoo and I think it is because of the selection of software, sure it takes longer to install but I consider it to be easier to maintain and add up to date software to.
