Using the same wall socket solves the really serious earth problems, but unless the PSU's output(!) voltage ground is also connected to earth, you can't guarantee the magic smoke stays inside when connecting PSU outputs in parallel. Chances are the computer electronics ground is also earthed (which can create its own problems).
