[Note I specifically said Canon inkjet for this, the Canon lasers may incidentally be ok.] You must be joking, right? All the open source Canon inkjet printer drivers would have to be reversed engineered, as Canon provides absolutely no support for any of their products. The Canon ghostscript drivers are said to be inferior to the Epson ones. My father's cheap Canon job from the supermarket doesn't go under Linux (so he keeps on whinging Linux wouldn't go on his lappie because he can't print), but turboprint.de would fix him up. A photographer I know bought a top-range Canon photo printer about 3y ago because it suited him better, and it'd be a $1500 paperweight if it wasn't for turboprint.de.
