The thought is appreciated, but I have an ISA modem already which works
(sort of, fax class 1 only, no voice), alas - no ISA slots. They went
extinct about 1999.

Played the modem part of one of those too at someone else's place. I
don't think the driver is that good - not a lot of control, but yeah,
the modem part works. Did you try faxing? And does it have a voice part
under Linux (my guess is not)?

Can anyone recommend from experience any modem whos fax (which class)
and voice parts work well under Linux?

Thanks,

Volker
