Hmm.  My Telstra cable service is strung from a pole outside my house.  I 
don't have one of the little green louvred boxes outside my house (which is 
where the buried cables pop up)- it just hangs from the pole to an anchor 
on the eaves.  My electric supply and (old, unused) Telecom line comes off 
the same pole.
