yep I got that all sussed now!

The livecd has failed me so far:

athlon 1133 with suitable nvidia card has no sse instruction so it fails
(whats with that, my server at work has a later model duron and it has
sse, but no X or even screen and besides i am not booting my mail server
off a livecd and stopping the email going round)

laptop p3 has sse but no suitable video chipset

p3 desktop has sse and nvidia card but only 128M Ram (384M needed), and
I suspect its cpu would be a bit light.

desktops at work have no suitable video card.

Maybe its sime I got a new computer?
