eciadsl appears to be in the universe repository for ubuntu, so I think
that would be a better option than adding the repository suggested by
Chris (in fact I am not even sure that the download directory he gave
_is_ actually an apt-get repository.)

So Bernard, my recommendation:

1. get your machine online via someone elses network (friend with adsl
and a lan?)

2. add the universe repository to your synaptic setup

3. use synaptic to install eciadsl.

Someone should be able to help you, but you will need to get your
machine onto the net -
