Hi all,
After several days trying to get a picture out of mythtv, I've got
square eyes & a thumping headache from reading the supplied
'instructions' & browsing probably in the wrong places.
I have compiled and installed mythtv-0.19.tar.bz2 plus dependencies as
required
tvtime will run even with myth front & back ends running!
/mnt/store is a previously unused 7g jfs ptn and now holds various *.nuv
files.
So far I have the frontend and backend both running and connecting to
the mysql db. The db has a list of nz stations, some of which are not
local to Chch.
I have no sound - the instruction 7.1 says to alter setup->Audio from
/dev/dsp to ALSA but there is no such setup option. The 'line' control
is activated in alsamixer.
mythfilldatabase failed - xmltv returned error code 32512.
What arguments are needed when running mythfilldatabase? and how do I
point it to tv_grab_nz. nz is not provided for in the setup options.
I am running frontend & backend from separate command lines to check
error msgs:---
backend msgs NVR: Only read -1 bytes of 4096 bytes from '/dev/dsp
read audio: Input/output error
frontend msgs NVP::OpenFile(): Error, couldn't read
file:/mnt/store//1011_20060425113037.nuv
TV Error: StartPlayer(): NVP is not playing after 20000 msec
TV Error: LiveTV not successfully started
I have managed to save a short movie clip which I can view - sans sound.
Also several short empty files.
All suggestions would be welcome, or would a fixup session be better?
