This is getting to be quite fun, and maybe one day I might be able to anser questions myself!!!!!!!!!!! ok now trying to install XNVIEW I have done a search on the repository but can not find it.

First of all is it on a repository or maybe I am using it wrong.

I am following the instructions from

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=73651

“When that is complete, you would go to your download location for xnview and type the following: sudo alien -d XnView-static.i386.rpm This will format the rpm file to a debian file.”

I am confused here, I have downloaded it to the desktop, do I type this command in a terminal window.

Under that is the following instructions

“Then you would need to install Xnview. Type in this:
dpkg -i xnview_1.70-2_i386.deb”

I presume that is in a terminal window.
