Just the 1024x768 matters. The 'multisync' part is what frequency your
video card outputs in drawing that to screen, and the acceptable range
is quite wide - including 60 <off he goes to find the manual quote..>.

the Debian / FreeBSD & Gnome distros I use start up in a grotty little
window of all black screen, until X starts. But the consoles stay that
way in the background (something to do with some kernel compilation
flag, on BSD, I am told). However Knoppix for e.g. & Mandrake IIRC draw
a full screen console from start to finish. It's probably a peculiarity
of my ATI/LCD combo though..
Argh! - that's nothing to do with the projector!!
