I'm running pfSense on a P166 with 256 Mb ram... Its fine, and still passes packets faster than the internet connection :)
Even my work pfSense box is only a dual PPro 200 and that handling a 10 Mbit cable WAN and captive portal and lots of port forwards and a VPN. The memeory requirement is real though - you do need 112 Mb absolute minimum. -----Original Message----- From: Kerry Mayes [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, 22 June 2006 6:53 p.m. To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Telstra cable... Volker, I see that pfserve requires a 128Mb 400Mhz machine. Do you have a better alternative to Ipcop that runs (well) on a 40Mb 120Mhz clunker?
