I'm running pfSense on a P166 with 256 Mb ram...  Its fine, and still passes
packets faster than the internet connection :)

Even my work pfSense box is only a dual PPro 200 and that handling a 10 Mbit
cable WAN and captive portal and lots of port forwards and a VPN.

The memeory requirement is real though - you do need 112 Mb absolute
minimum.

Volker, I see that pfserve requires a 128Mb 400Mhz machine.  Do you have a
better alternative to Ipcop that runs (well) on a 40Mb 120Mhz clunker?
