Yep I got started on old Ultrix boxes late 80's, early 90's.
If you need to convert from Solaris ( HP-UX, Irix, etc ), then I can probably help if nobody else can.

Sounds cool. I had my own Sun workstation for a while and I thought of
converting it to OpenSolaris, but some of the hardware started acting up
and did not want to bother with it, especially did not to pay to ship it
over here....
If I ever get a spare piece of hardware I will def give it a try.
