Did you get the x windows login or just the terminal prompt?

There are two user accounts root, root demo, demo

When it first boots pick the top option as that works most of the time other
wise slowly work your way down the list trying the other options.

Watch out for the version of partioning software on the disk qtpart - it
edits the partions but fails to update ntfs to reflect the changed partion.
The result is windozes still thinks it has the same size partion which can
cause corruption and confussion. I have proved this today by increasing the
size of a windozes partion from 10gb to 20gb. All the partion tools show it
as 20gb including the windozes tools but windozes also shows the formated
file system is still only 10gb

Had another play with the Mepis Disk this evening, and made VERY slight
progress.
Got to the point where is showed:
Login:
Password:

tried
Alan
boot
nope didnt like it ort any other pairing sush as boot boot. Tried entering
Demo Demo it then came back with [EMAIL PROTECTED]"]$

only entry I got a response with was "dir"
that produced a line of info
Backups Desktop Documents Mail Music etc
and then returned to the
[EMAIL PROTECTED]"]$

So some slight progress but obviously I will have to sort some commands
out to be able to get any further.
However still trying until Robert has time to come and help me.

My appreciative thanks to all those that have replied to me so far with
all their very helpful comments.
Regards Alan Hughes
