The user commands 'live' in the /usr/bin directory. You can list them out with the ls command. ls /usr/bin
Then try a few with the --help flag after the command. That will tell you very briefly how to use the command. For more information about the command try reading the manual page. You use the man command for this, so for the ls command mentioned above you'd say:- man ls Read all about it, and try out some of the option flags. ls -l Gives and interesting print-out. for a rather more detailed and readable documentation you ight be able to use the info command info ls We need to get the X windowing system going for you.
