I actually found that it was cheaper to buy made up cables.

Subject: OT: Source of Cat6 cable

Does anyone know a good (read: cheap) chch supplier of cat6 cable?

I'm wanting to put some reliability into my home network and have been
looking for a source of cat6 cable. There are a few nth island online
stores, but it's another $40 to get a 300m box to Chch. I tried a
couple of local suppliers but they want $420 +GST for a box!

I'm wanting to eliminate as much wireless as possible as it's proving
too flakey - half the time my machines can't contact the server to get
their IP address. Linux content: and I've still never got a linux
machine to conect to the network with PCI or USB.

Kerry.
