Basically yes, but I need to know of the pitfalls, and whether spending more money is "a bit more money" or "a lot more money" I can't spend my friend's money for him, but I can advise on the Right Thing to do for his current situation. > www.company.co.nz --> homepages.isp.co.nz/~friend is the cheap and nasty > way to do it, but looks more professional than having > "homepages.isp.co.nz/~friend" on business stationery. Yes. I think the domain name is very important, and $38/yr is absurdly cheap. I don't think it is too bad to have that pointing at the ISP homepage, especially as it can be migrated to point at a 'real' webpage later. He has survived the last year with the ISP home page as his "business presence", and has found that using the internet is a good business tool. I think it's time to move up, and buying a domain is a cheap next step. Paying for web hosting is a bit more, but still affordable. It's not just the cost, but the introduction of email and the Web was completely new to him, so I am trying to get it all going for the lowest outlay and commitment, so that if it doesn't work out he hasn't spent a huge amount on it, nor would he have to keep paying for some long-term plan.
