The guy I spoke with (on Skype) said that Skype does not play well with Linux yet but he has heard that there is a new version out in the last week or so which is better.
I've had 1.2.0.18 running fine here on SuSE 9.1 (which you gave me the disks for, thanks :) for quite a while now, no sound problems with it at all. I am also using KAMix (0.0.7). The only thing I can think of for your sound problem is either something else is clashing with it, or you don't have the mic capture set. Ny settings on the Capture tab are. Both dropdowns to 'Mic' and the Capture Source Lock checkbox checked, Mic Boost checked, sliders currently at 53, but they move as they see fit and the two remaining checkboxes are also checked ( Lock and Activate ),
