Any help any ideas?

I am trying to install Linux on my computer which already has w2k installed on it. When I was installing w2k I created 40g space for it and I have over 120g left but when I tried installing Linux, it could not detect the hard drive.   Did I have to do something (create partitions) before starting my installation or this would be part of the installation?   How should I have installed the two OS?       O&F Amoafo 65 Harris Crescent Papanui Christchurch phone +6433521586 fax       +6433521587
