I think ReiserFS will probably survive, because it's made it into Linus' kernel, but I feel that Reiser4 quite possibly won't simply because it hasn't. It's a great pity because it has some splendid ideas which make it pack the data into the disk sectors extremely tightly, which in turn help it run very quickly. Currently it has a few problems which I have discovered recently. Goodness only knows what will happen in the future. For Hans' sake, and for those of his children, I hope this turns out to be one huge mistake, but somehow I fear not. http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/10/11/0142216 > Just my 0.02c > > Wesley Parish > > On Wed, 11 Oct 2006 20:59, Christopher Sawtell wrote: > > On Wednesday 11 October 2006 19:55, Nick Rout wrote: > > > Hans Reiser Arrested On Suspicion of Murder > > > > > > http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/10/11/0142216&from=rss > > > > Yes, it's a disaster of considerable magnetude, not only for the family > > in question, but also for us users of R4.
