iwconfig wlan0 channel x essid xxxxx mode managed key xxxxxxxxxx where all the 'x' need replacing by the real data from your ap. The simplest one to get up and running is if your ap is in open/wep mode. If you're using a 5 character key instead of 10 hex, prefix it with s:
