After all, there are these funds available and the trustees have to give
the money away. However, the trustees want to avoid getting into the

nervous of people they don't know.
See: www.crra.org.nz
Last month I was invited to attend a meeting on just the sort of thing
you're talking about.
I was told that the hip-hop research tour actually resulted in an entire
funding program for arts being canceled.
What did she learn:
* learn from the experts: go on a seminar
* start small: her first successful application was for a few hundred
dollars
Funny you should say that.
I've actually been reading more about it before I put in my application.
The info I posted last night showed I'm asking for $1300
However that was for 2 years.
I'm going to put in an actual app for $300 to cover us for the first 6
months... I'm going to pay for the vodem my self and then I'm going to
put in a second app from another part of the funding for 600 to cover
the next 12 months then I'll put in another app for the following 12
months if we need to.
* work with a partner who is not a family member: the trustees are very
wary of individuals and families
Don't have one for this purpose at present. Yes I do see your point and
agree with you.
* keep trying
"Start trying" would be a better statement. In all honesty, I haven't
really tried that hard at all have I?
What I've really done is just made do. I have taught these kids
something of value and their parents and teachers do tell me that
they're really enjoying it.
This is really about meeting the original objective and delivering
something that would be a little more up to the standards that we as
CLUG members might find ok.
* stick with the fund you are successful with: get to know them
As usual, it is who you know, not what you know, that gets results.
Oh you're right no the mark there....
I hadn't even thought about doing an application until I went to a
meeting that Bob Shearing happened to be at. We got talking and I
expressed my thoughts on the library's set up, to which he expressed I
should drop him a note. Which I did, and then he got the bums rush for
not going through the correct channels.
Cheers Don
