sledgehammer, meet nut. See my previous post PLUS this:

suse divides the bittorrent pacjage into three, bittorrent is the base
system and the command line clients.

bittorrent-gtk is the X gui(s)
bittorrent-curses is the curses gui(s)

none have a program called bittorrent, so looking for an executable named
bittorrent is a waste of time.
