You'll need to find the partition starts somehow. After that you could dd the partition out of your disk backup onto any filesystem and loopmount it. You could loopmount with an offset (= the partition start) into the disk image file, unfortunately the offset is limited to 2^32-1 bytes (try a 64bit box?) and truncated to multiples of 512 (which doesn't matter for you, as the partition start is a multiple of 512 anyway). > Any alternative suggestions will be gratefully received.
