If the walls are all concrete it will reduce the signal considerably.  You 
might need several access points wired back onto the LAN.  Also, you don't 
have to move the telephone point, just wire an extension.  If you tack the 
cables down neatly (along the skirting board for example) they won't look 
too obtrusive.

Maybe you are expecting us all to tell you to buy the cool gadget... you 
know you want to.
