I second this recommendation. It is sitting on my bookshelf right next
to "Code Complete 2nd ed." by McConnell, another very good book to
read for a coder.

I also recommend (and have just finished) Alistair Cockburn's "The
cooperative game" in which he applies game theory to software
development. Bits of the book are too theoretical for me, and other
sections were (well informed) opinion, but in the main there's some
very sound ideas and practices in there.
