Hi, kopete crashes when logging in to the msn network, a commonly reported
issue at the moment for kubuntu gutsy users, the issue is described here
and there is a fix:

The problem being that this is for 32bit - GDebi (the new package
installer) reports " error: wrong architecture 'i386' " which is
understandable given I'm an AMD64 installation.
There's an amd64 version of the fixed package available. The link[0] is in
the Launchpad bug referenced in the URL you supplied.
This is the same issue I currently have with installing skype and there
doesn't appear to be a 64 bit skype.
There is no 64-bit version of Skype for Linux yet. This is one of the
prices you pay for using closed source software. You can install a 32-bit
version by installing the approriate 32-bit compatibility libraries.
There's a howto[1] in the Ubuntu forums (easily found via Google).
