There's an amd64 version of the fixed package available.  The link[0] is in
the Launchpad bug referenced in the URL you supplied.

There is no 64-bit version of Skype for Linux yet.  This is one of the
prices you pay for using closed source software.  You can install a 32-bit
version by installing the approriate 32-bit compatibility libraries.
