Unfortunately, I run my web servers in a production environment, so a product being shiny, new and the latest buzzword can't be a justification for change - shame (: The lack of maturity of lighttpd has been shown in some rather serious security problems in the last year ( http://www.frsirt.com/english/vendor/3325 shows 3 or 4 ). I know nothing about lightspeed so can't comment.
Also, I'm too old to run multiple software packages to provide the same function. If the newbies were significantly better in some way then I'd work on converting, but I haven't seen any I'm not too sure what you mean by apache bloat. My httpd is 190kB in size, and is currently running at 11MB resident and 30MB virtual memory. This is to serve double figures virtual servers and about 10GB/day bandwidth. I don't see that as any cause for concern ( from the system side ) at all! Yes, I know - I'm not your typical linux user (: Steve On Wed, 12 Dec 2007 09:06:14 +1300 Brett Davidson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Ever checked out lightspeed or lightttpd? > > Apache is somewhat bloated these days. > > Brett. > > > Steve Holdoway wrote: > > Me too.
