Just a thought about this, I'm not sure you'll do much more than annoy the editor of that section of the press. (I've not read the whole thread, so ignore me if this has already come up).
A better option IMHO might be to offer to write an article (or short series) of articles on FOSS for the paper. Bearing in mind that anything you get might be edited to heck anyway, and come out all wrong. To quote our HR manager's catch phrase from last month. "Be solutions focused, not problems focused". You're focusing on the problem, about which you can do nothing, 150,000 copies of it already went to print. A solution would be to get your (our?) own message into the same media. I imagine the sub-editor of that bit of the press will be far more receptive to an offer of a more 'balanced' article than a rebuttal of another contributors work. I have first hand experience in being ignored by many editors and publishers. This type of response is generally not worth the effort unless all you want is to get an edited excerpt from your letter put in 'letters to the editor' which does not help the image of FOSS. (One of my jobs is freelance photography) Just my 2c worth, as always. :-). On Thu, 2007-12-13 at 00:03 +1300, Graeme Kiyoto-Ward wrote: > Hi > > Draft Attached. Not quite finished.
