So you want to do printing, and expect it to work? I mean, talking to the
other end of the world, multiple simultaneous users, and whatever else - no
problem. But putting ink on paper? You must be joking. Hmmmpf.

Oops, that means every application has its own options, all different, and
which you will have to track down. Your job.

Usually you'd want to prepare the print job for duplex, meaning you want a
suitable binding margin (that's on the inside). If your left and right
margins are the same size there's no differene, otherwise you'd want to
shift lefthand pages outwards. If you have an already finished file, like a
postscript or pdf, this can be quiet a bit of fumbling. There's no easy user
software helping you out there.

If you don't have a duplex printer you'll have to feed in the paper a second
time. You'll need to print odd pages first and even pages next, or even
pages first and odd pages next, or even pages in reverse order(!) and odd
pages next, or any other combination which suits your printer. The printer
model dictates how you'll have to do this (it mainly depends on whether the
printer prints on the lower or upper face of the sheet of paper). The
printer model also dictates how you have to rotate the first stack of paper
when feeding it back in. There is only one right way to do it (and it may
depend on the feeder used too). You could use pencil marks on one side in
one corner before printing. It's trial and error (and being organised and
writing it down once...).

Every bit of printing software should allow printing odd and even pages
separately. Not all allow reversing the page order; if your printer model
happens to need it you're sunk (or start fiddling with command line software
which re-arranges pages).

Good luck + have fun ;)
