To aid googling, what you want isn't duplex, it's the ability to print
a defined subset of pages.

Ross has suggested a KDE solution. Gnome (on my Ubuntu VM at any rate)
does the job with
Print->Options->Left pages only for OOo
Print->Page Setup->Only Print->Odd sheets for evince.
