hmm, I should have checked the NAT capabilities of the Surfboard modem
myself, before buying the switch I bought last night! I'd assumed it'd
be sweet, based on comments on this list. Apparently NAT is not supported -
/*Do Motorola SURFboard cable modems support Network Address Translation
(NAT) or Port Address Translation (PAT)?*
All SURFboard Cable Modems function as bridges (with the exception of
the SBG900). They do not support any type of address translation. The
SBG900 does support Port Address Translation in addition to many other
networking features. For more product information, please click here

I bought this switch -

Bit of an overkill with the number of ports available, but suits me to
have the ability to have a significantly expanded network in the future,
if needed. Hopefully, it'll be straightforward enough to setup?!

But, sounds like I'll need a router anyway, after all that...

Cheers
Matt
