having experienced all the following at one time or another, i'd like to add: please please please remember to back up your data before doing this, since the risks of a potentially troublesome event occurring during such operations (be that human error or it "just not working" for what ever reason) are comparatively high . . .

you might also like to test that you can restore your backed up data too (since an invalid backup process is even less useful than no backup at all - given you've wasted your time). Roger
