I've put three runs of cat5 inside some garden hose (very tight fit - two would be fine) and that has worked for ~6 years.

Cable is so much better than wireless - its worth the effort. I've got the box-o-cable and jacks/crimps etc.

You can also run an analogue phone extension over the pairs too, added bonus.
