Fixit evenings aren't really compatible with a social evening at a pub. There's too much beer swilling about for a start, and dragging your desktop computer in will get you a lot stranger looks than a small subtle laptop, not to mention the reaction to lugging in printers and scanners, which seem to be the source of many frustrations and fixit requests. OTOH I'd like someone to show me how to do something useful with bluetooth and my cellphone!
