Sorry if this seemed gruff.  I didn't mean it directed at you.  I'm just floundering 
in a new way of doing things when I don't really have the time.  Not so much the 
Digital camera, but the way USB is handled between SuSE and COL.  Perhaps it's more of 
a standard way of doing things (hotplug) but I'm totally blind so far.  USB just work 
in COL.  I plugged something in, it created the device file in /dev/usb and made 
things happen (like automagically allowing me to use my USB mouse whenever I plugged 
it in without having to do any configuration... even the wheel mouse worked).  SuSE is 
just very different, and part of it is simply that their stuff is more up-to-date... 
but that shouldn't make it more difficult, should it?
