Problem is the press and other news media. 98 percent of them never heard of Linux and 
the
other 2 %  probably own stock in Micro Squish. In all the stories I've read about the 
evil of
Code Red and Sircam not one of them mentioned Linux or that Linux systems weren't 
effected by
these critters. Although, one of them did mention that Code Red  was /is specific to 
Windows NT
and 2000 and one on the internet did question whether M$ was at fault for Code Red. 
But, only
in their slow response in alerting potential victims not that their OS might be a 
disease pit.
