Yes, I use MyDynDNS.

I did 3 before 2. You gotta donate before you get access to the MyDynDNS
stuff anyway. I paid by check via snail mail and it took a little over a
week before I could access MyDynDNS. My domain name was activated
shortly after that. I don't s'pose it'd take so long if you use PayPal.
Time was not of the essence for me, I still don't have a home page, yet
(just the stock Caldera page, modified slightly -- which is why I'm not
posting my URL in these messages).

I had set up <name>.homeip.net (via StaticDNS) and <name>.webhop.org
(via WebHop) before donating and they got activated within a day or so.
I did the WebHop thing because I originally had my webserver running on
a non-standard port, 8192, and the webhop address redirected to that
port. Access via the homeip.net URL required entering the port number.
Unfortunately, with MyDynDNS, I can no longer do the port redirect, so I
opened port 80 rather than requiring the entry a port number to access
my website. Of course, now I gotta deal with CodeRed, Nimda, et al,
filling my logs.

As far as "4. Do other stuff yet to be determined..." I'm with ya on
that. I've still got a website to design (hoping to get the rest of the
family involved in that) and I wanna set up a mail server so that we can
have <name>@<mydomain> e-mail addresses.

You're welcome.
