I, foolishly, updated my Ubuntu this week as a mental break from the Business Plan I'm writing. Didn't have the same issues as others but it took about three goes for the upgrade to work through. I can't remember all the steps I took but it was at least:
Run upgrade from gui - failed and it unwound automatically (seemed to be an internet fail) Run upgrade from gui - many many errors - file not found - but upgrade proceeded Run agt-get update & upgrade - fixed all the errors Now no command prompt available anywhere. Terminal programs don't work and neither does ctrl alt f1 (I just get empty screen / window with no prompt) Spend two hours trying to get nvidia drivers to work Spend two hours trying to get virtual box to work Spend half an hour working out good way to use new unity interface for how I want to work. ALL GOOD! (except for that pesky command prompt issue) Kerry _______________________________________________ Linux-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.canterbury.ac.nz/mailman/listinfo/linux-users
