My old sennheisers lasted me the best part of 20 years before a channel dropped. And that included a lot of sweaty miles on a static bike! I'm currently using sennheiser hd 485s. Given up the sweaty part ( you'd never guess! ), but these get used 5+ days a week, 10+ hours a day. Maybe it would be worth investing in a curly extension lead so that it'll break there, rather than across the wires?
