Hi All,

I've just today updated my Ubuntu 10.4.2 kernel to 2.6.32-33-generic

Did it to both my desktop and laptop systems.

I then used, and "safely removed", Seagate 1TB USB external expansion
drives (Model # 9SF2A4-500) from each system. (Two different drives,
same model.)

Both systems then locked up: No mouse responses at all. Ctrl-Alt-Del
had no effect. Had to hit Reset on desktop and Power on laptop.

Never had something like this before. Well, with /Linux/ that is :-)

Anyone else out in CLUG-land getting the same symptoms?

If yes: How to best report this bug to the kernel developers?

According to Wikipedia, Greg Kroah-Hartman is the Maintainer for this
branch of the LINUX Kernel.

Or should I create a Launchpad account and report it here...
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs

Thanks very much,

Carl "I don't understand the disease, just the symptoms" Turney
