I've just subscribed to this list , because although I live near Blenheim, I am sometimes in Christchurch. I have lots of rellies there, so I might manage to get to a meeting (if there are any still?).
The request is on behalf of my niece, who has a machine running some version of Ubuntu (kernel 2.6.25.20 is all the information I have). She (and her partner and 1 year-old) have just moved houses for quakey reasons. They did have an ADSL modem, but now have signed up to Woosh ADSL, who have supplied them with a router. The problem is that it sounds like the networking is still set up for the modem, so they can't access the router. They are not particularly experts at this, and my attempts to assist them by phone have not been successful. Does anyone feel like giving them a hand? It may involve a visit - they live near the south end of Ferry Road. cheers ant -- Sent from my linux system running Debian 6, desktop trinity-KDE. This email is plain text, not HTML.
