The last ADSL modem I bought was a TP-LINK TD-W8960N Wireless N 300M

Very configurable, had heaps of great reviews at the time (late
December), fast and very cost effective at $98.
Another suggestion is the 2Wire ADSL modem Telecom gives out with
business connections.
I've used two of these and have been very happy with them.
There are two catches though:
1) They will only work on Telecom ADSL connections :(
2) It's only Wireless G.
But... there are a number of them on trademe at the moment for as little
as $1 reserve....
