My impression of linux / OSS training is that historically its always been specialised.

Things like Redhat / Oracle / SUSE certs are both expensive, and very specific to the target and version.

CompTIA and courses like A+ and Linux+ etc exist but feel more like mere paperwork, to tick an academic requirement.

As a comparison, there is a ladder of cisco qualifications ranging from CCENT through CCxA and CCxP to CCxE

Any thoughts on what's available, and what's actually useful in the OS / Linux world? Or is it best measured as QBE - Qualifications By Experience ?
