I'm (still) 42 years old :) I learned to read it without knowing what I
actually did---library books I wanted to read were printed that way
(Karl May).  Later my parents explained the background...  Incidentally
I studied German Literature and my teacher used to insist students must
be able to read "Fraktur".  I'm inclined to believe he is still right.

Anyway, I like to confirm that it's possible to map Fraktur to roman
script 1:1 -- even if this will obsure the origin of some letters (like
some purists say).
