Certainly most desireable would be
- headers and footers with configurable style and information such
as filename, date/time, user name, page number, indicator for
this being the last page
- n-up and landscape
- proper line wrapping (choice of wrapping indicator for formatted
files like emacs does or at word boundaries and without indicator
for unformatted/flowed files like Word does) and/or automatic
font size scaling based on maximum line length (would of course
require 2 passes over the file)
- perhaps even support for some of the ISO 6429 SGR ESC sequences
such as bold, underline or italics, especially since groff supports
these now
- make sure it does by default the right thing when printing RFCs
in 2-up and 4-up mode
- have a command line option that dumps the currently properly supported
Unicode repertoire to stdout (just one 4+ digit Unicode hex
number per line)
I guess, the above would turn cedilla into a formatter that I would
recommend widely as a general replacement for a2ps.
I personally don't care much about the frames of a2ps or any further
prettification, but tastes differ.
