The whole manpage has a typographical flaw: For historical reasons,
groff needs either a newline after a sentence stop or *two* spaces,
otherwise you get inconsistent appearance. I strongly suggest to
always start a new sentence on a new line.
If you want to have a behaviour similar to TeX's \frenchspacing,
insert the command
.ss 12 0
This only works in GNU troff.
